Apply on behalf of your son or daughter (Under 14) to take part in the Trofeo CONI 2026 in Puglia, 4-7 October 2026, with the Swiss delegation of CONI as a guest in the Comunità Italiane all'Estero section. Application deadline extended to 10 September 2026.

The Trofeo CONI 2026

The eleventh edition of the summer Trofeo CONI will be held in Puglia from 4 to 7 October 2026. The opening ceremony will take place in Bari, while the competitions will be spread across the Capurso venues: PalaLivatino, PalaPadovano and the new Centro Federale FIPE for weightlifting.

Around 5,000 Under 14 athletes are expected from all over Italy. The Swiss delegation of CONI takes part each year as a guest within the official "Comunità Italiane all'Estero" section included in the Trofeo CONI programme, with a team of young Italian-Swiss athletes selected by the national delegate.

Who can apply

Under the Trofeo CONI 2026 General Regulations (rev. 2):

  • Girls and boys born between 2012 and 2016 (categories U10-U14, aged 10-14)
  • With at least one parent of Italian nationality or dual Italian-Swiss citizenship
  • Resident in Switzerland or registered with a Swiss sports club
  • Practising a discipline included in the Trofeo CONI 2026 programme (the final list of participating National Sports Federations and Associated Sports Disciplines will be published by CONI at the end of the regional phase)

Dual registration with an Italian ASD/SSD enrolled in the CONI Register and affiliated to an FSN/DSA is a preferential qualification but not mandatory for the Swiss guest delegation.

The 3 official phases of the project

According to the official regulations, the Trofeo CONI is structured in three phases:

  1. Provincial Selection (where possible)
  2. Regional Phase — identifies the regional team taking part in the final
  3. National Final — Puglia, 4-7 October 2026

As a guest within the "Comunità Italiane all'Estero" section, the Swiss delegation goes directly to the National Final without passing through the Italian territorial phases: selection is handled by the national CONI delegate in Switzerland.

How the selection works

  1. Application on the portal by 10 September 2026
  2. Assessment by the national CONI delegate in Switzerland (by 20 September 2026)
  3. Notification of results by email to the family (by 25 September 2026)
  4. Formal registration of the selected athlete with the CONI federation

The selection gives priority to territorial representation (cantons), the diversity of disciplines and documented competitive experience.

Costs and organisation

The trip to Puglia (Switzerland-Italy travel, accommodation, meals) is organised by the Swiss delegation of CONI. The participation fee and logistical details will be communicated to the selected athletes after the assessment phase.

Parents/guardians are invited to accompany the minors during the trip.

Selection criteria

Selection handled by the national CONI delegate in Switzerland on the basis of:

  • Territorial representation (Swiss cantons)
  • Distribution across the required sports disciplines
  • Recent competitive experience (competitions, level, results)
  • Federation registration (Italian FSN/DSA or Swiss federation)
  • Order of arrival of applications (for equivalent profiles)

The final number of athletes in the Swiss delegation will depend on the agreements with the CONI Organising Committee in Puglia and may vary according to the disciplines admitted for guest delegations.

Applications close on 09/10/2026. Registrations are collected with a single form, with the documents and the parent’s signature.
