Delegate for Switzerland
The CONI Delegate for Switzerland represents the Italian National Olympic Committee within the Italian community in Switzerland.
With resolution no. 313 of 29 October 2025, the CONI National Board chaired by Luciano Buonfiglio renewed the network of Delegates abroad for the 2025-2028 Olympic cycle. For Switzerland, the role was confirmed to Cirano Tondi.
The role
The role is voluntary and unpaid, and lasts for the Olympic cycle. The Delegate promotes sport among young Italian and Italian-Swiss generations, supports emerging talent and keeps in touch with the Italian institutions in the country, starting with the consulates.
What the delegation does
Every year the Swiss delegation of CONI takes a team of young athletes to the national events in Italy, including the Trofeo CONI, and organises sports days in Switzerland for Italian families.
