Alessio Solazzi is Italian Under 19 champion at just 16 years old. In Italy, the Under 19 is the highest youth category before moving up to the seniors: an extraordinary achievement, reached in his first year with Derthona Basket and after only three years of activity in Italy.
What makes the feat even more special is his age: Alessio was born in 2009 and played in the 2007/2008 category, against opponents one or two years older. At the end of his first season with his new team he was already among the last 24 players at the National Finals.
For Alessio it is the third national title won between Switzerland and Italy: a path of constant growth, born in youth sport and accompanied step by step by the Swiss delegation of CONI.
