Registrations open for the Trofeo CONI 2026: six places for young Italian-Swiss athletes
Manifestazioni · 09/03/2026

Registrations for the Trofeo CONI 2026 are open. The Swiss delegation of CONI will take six Under-14 athletes to the national final, held in Bari and Capurso, in Puglia, from 4 to 7 October 2026.
The Trofeo CONI is the great multi-sport celebration of Italian youth sport: every year thousands of young people from all over Italy compete in dozens of disciplines. Switzerland takes part as a guest within the Italian Communities Abroad section, alongside delegations from Italian communities around the world.
Who can apply
Girls and boys of Italian origin living in Switzerland who practise sport at youth level or are registered with a club. The eligible years of birth depend on the discipline, according to the technical regulations of the federations:
- Football 3 vs 3 — born in 2013 and 2014
- Youth boxing (sparring-io) — born in 2013 and 2014
- Basketball 3 vs 3 sprint — born between 2012 and 2016
- Table tennis — born between 2012 and 2016
- Chess — born between 2012 and 2016
In the form, as soon as the date of birth is entered, the disciplines that do not fit switch themselves off: you can see at once what your child can take part in.
How to apply
The application is completed online, in a few minutes, on the delegation's portal. You need the identity documents of the parent and the athlete, and the parent's signature. Each family receives a confirmation by email and can follow the status of the application from their own area.
Registrations close on 10 September 2026.
The programme
- 4 October: arrival in Bari, opening ceremony and parade of the teams
- 5 and 6 October: competitions in Capurso, in 42 disciplines
- 7 October: prize-giving and closing ceremony in Bari
Costs
The participation fee is 250 francs, as a contribution to travel costs. Travel from Switzerland to Italy, meals and accommodation for the selected athletes are organised by the delegation. Parents who wish to may accompany the delegation and attend all the events: organising their own travel, and its cost, is up to them.
How the six athletes are chosen
All else being equal, the delegation favours representation across the cantons, a variety of disciplines and documented competitive experience.
